Grier Acres, LLC
We’re in the process of re-starting the family farm after 75+ years of being inactive. The farm has been in the family since the 1830s and it’s not going to be sold off in our lifetime. It’s not big enough to do profitable row crops or large animals such as cows. In the 1980s a great deal of the property was planted in pine just like a lot of the smaller family farms in the area. Now after two cuttings, we have the “plantation look”. We have a Mayhaw pond, and pawpaws growing naturally. Perhaps those will be some of the crops we will offer.
In the meantime we’re planning on growing vegetables, olives, hops, fruit trees, pecans and meat goats, among other things.
