Most people know bay leaves as a wonderful culinary addition to soups, stews, etc. Bay Leaves have a less known superpower - they REPLE INSECTS. You can put a couple of dry bay leaves in the top of flour, cornmeal, rice, oatmeal containers and it will keep small pests OUT. So even if you don't want to cook with Mrs. Liz's leaves, a few of them in places around the kitchen where you don't want creepy crawlies is a wonderful chemical free way to help discourage them. FYI, this tree came from Dothan Nurseries a few years back. They are known as bay laurels and the nursery has them in stock!
